Metallic silicon, also known as crystalline silicon or industrial silicon, is mainly used as an additive for non-ferrous alloys. Metallic silicon is a product smelted from quartz and coke in an electric furnace. The content of the main component silicon is about 98% (in recent years, silicon with a content of 99.99% is also included in metallic silicon), and the remaining impurities are iron, aluminum, calcium, etc.

Applications
1. It is a good substitute for ferro silicon in steel making which has advantage in reducing the making cost.
2. The silicon slag powder can be made silicon briquette which has far and wide market at home and abroad.
3. It is used as deoxidizer in steel making.
4. Silicon content from 30~50% is used for silicon addition for iron making in the blast furnace and cupola, 50~70% is used for the deoxidization of steel making.
5. We use silicon slag to produce silicon briquette which is far and wide market in domestic and international.
