Ferrosilicon is an iron alloy composed of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is an iron silicon alloy made from coke, steel scraps, quartz (or silica) and smelted in an electric furnace. It is widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel. Ferrosilicon is commonly used as reducing agent in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.
Application:
1. Ferro silicon is very common in the steel making industry, ferro silicon is mainly used as deoxidation set and alloy agent, there is a procedure in the process of this gang is deoxidation, because silicon and oxygen have a very large affinity, so the ferrosilicon as deoxidizer, so the quality of steel out is good;
2. In the cast iron industry, is used as inoculant and spheroidizing agent, ferrosilicon in it plays an important role, in the process of cast iron can be directly added some ferrosilicon, which can effectively prevent the formation of iron carbide, but also can effectively prevent the formation of iron carbon complex, but also can effectively help graphite spheroidization;
3. In the production of electrode, can be used as electrode coating.
