Graphite is an allotrope of carbon, gray-black, opaque solid, chemically stable, corrosion-resistant, and difficult to react with acids, alkalis and other agents.
Natural graphite comes from graphite deposits, and it can also be made into artificial graphite by using petroleum coke, pitch coke, etc. as raw materials through a series of processes.
Graphite burns in oxygen to generate carbon dioxide, which can be oxidized by strong oxidants such as concentrated NA and potassium permanganate.
