Calcium silicon barium alloy is an effectively new type of composite alloy, which is
deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking and has the performance of
dephosphorization, in addition which is also inoculant and metamorphic agent
in casting.
(1) Calcium silicon barium alloy is one efficient new type composite alloy in department
of barium alloy, it is used for steelmaking deoxidizer, desulfurization agent, also have
a function of dephosphorization; it is the nucleating agent and modificator in casting.
(2) Barium can reduce the vapor pressure of calcium effectively in steelmaking
temperature range and increase solubility of the liquid steel. Compared with the
calcium silicon alloy, silicon barium calcium alloy as a source of calcium in liquid steel,
the adding amount of calcium even half of the calcium silicon alloy addition amount,
the calcium content in the molten steel is about twice of the calcium silicon alloy, the
content of calcium in liquid steel is also significantly increased. It fully shows
that barium effectively protect the calcium in liquid steel, reduces the oxidation of
calcium, so as to achieve the purpose of dispose of calcium in steel liquid.
Barium in steelmaking temperature range effectively reduce the vapor pressure of
calcium, increase the solubility of calcium in the liquid steel. Compared with the calcium
silicon alloy, calcium silicon barium alloy as a source of calcium to join in liquid steel,
the addition of calcium quantity is half of the addition in calcium silicon alloy, while the
calcium content in liquid steel is twice as calcium in calcium silicon alloy; the stability of
calcium in liquid steel can also be improved obviously. This shows barium in liquid steel
effectively protect the calcium, reduce the oxidation of calcium so as
to achieve the purpose of treating calcium in liquid steel:
